Hey Jude Productions is a Los Angeles based international film production company, dedicated to telling positive, entertaining and inspiring stories, to better the world. Created by Israeli Academy Award Winner writer/director Dani Menkin, Hey Jude Productions’ multi-award-winning films have been seen around the globe.
Dani Menkin - Writer / Director
Currently living in Los Angeles, California, Dani Menkin is the twice Israeli-Academy-Award-Winning filmmaker of 39 POUNDS OF LOVE and IS THAT YOU? 39 POUNDS OF LOVE was sold to HBO Documentary Films and shortlisted for the American Oscar Awards.
Menkin’s award-winn ing film DOLPHIN BOY (co-directed with Yonatan Nir) was sold to over 20 countries around the globe and was bought by Walt Disney Pictures for adaptation. His documentary ON THE MAP is being distributed by Lionsgate in North America.
Dani Menkin is a speaker and film juror at International Festivals around the world, as well as a film professor in universities in the U.S.
Asaf Shaul - Producer
At the age of 25, while studying for an undergraduate degree, Asaf Shaul accompanied Ami Ankilewitz as a care taker — and was unexpectedly exposed to the film world as a protagonist — in Dani Menkin’s award-winning documentary 39 POUNDS OF LOVE. He joined the project as a producer and a partner, leading to its international success that included acquisition by HBO and being “short listed” for an Oscar. He attended the special screenings as a lecturer, telling his own story through Ami’s inspiring life.
After studying for a B.A. in business administration and an M.A. in non-profit management, Asaf established a unique therapeutic project to rehabilitate youth who have experienced great emotional and physical distress.
And after many years of entrepreneurship and project management in real estate, tourism and healthcare, Asaf Shaul has decided that the real world is on big screens :) — and is now a part of Hey Jude Productions mission to make great, inspirational films.
